Air Asia - Sponsor of Williams F1 Team

Unusual colour - Air Asia commercial jet - Sir Frank Williams

The FW30 isn’t the only machine carrying the Williams livery in Malaysia this weekend. Thursday saw the unveiling of an AirAsia commercial jet - named ‘Sir Frank Williams’ - carrying the team’s familiar blue and white colours.

Not only that, the nose of the plane is designed to resemble the helmet of Williams driver Nico Rosberg, who was on hand, along with team mate Kazuki Nakajima, to see the aircraft presented to assembled spectators and media.

As part of the launch ceremony - held to mark the renewal of Williams’ commercial partnership with AirAsia - Rosberg and Nakajima also participated in a meet-and-greet session with fans and received a tour of the A320 aircraft.
